Stanton County is committed to supporting the health, well-being, and financial security of its employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package. In addition to standard health insurance, the County provides a variety of optional and mandatory benefits, paid time off, retirement programs, and protections designed to support employees and their families. Employees are encouraged to contact the County Clerk's Office for assistance with benefit enrollment and questions.

Health Insurance – Kansas State Employee Health Plan

  • Coverage Levels: Single 100%, Employee + Children 80%, Employee + Spouse 75%, Family 70%

  • Employees are responsible for the balance of the premium; a cafeteria plan is available

  • Deductible and co-insurance are the responsibility of the employee

  • Providers include BCBS or Aetna

  • Dental Coverage: Delta Dental

  • Prescription Drug Card Program: CVS/Caremark

  • Optional Vision Coverage: Surency Vision

  • Optional Long-Term Care Coverage

Kansas Public Employees Retirement (KPERS) 

  • KPERS Retirement Program (Mandatory)

    • 6% deducted from employee salary; County matches 9.71% plus 1.00% DD

  • KPERS Disability: After 6 months off the job, KPERS pays 66 2/3% of annual salary, offset by Social Security

  • KPERS Group Life Insurance: Paid by County, effective first day of employment

    • 150% of annual compensation

    • Additional $50,000 if death is service-connected

    • Vested after 5 years

  • KPERS 457 Retirement Program (Optional): A deferred compensation retirement plan. Payroll deduction up to 25% of annual salary, not to exceed $23,000

  • KPERS Optional Group Life Insurance (Optional): Basic life insurance coverage.  

Optional Coverage Programs

  • MASA Ambulance Coverage: $14.00 per month; covers any ground or air ambulance anywhere in the USA for employee and family

  • AFLAC: Supplemental insurance provider that helps cover out-of-pocket costs from illness, accidents, or hospitalization. Policies include accident, cancer, critical illness, and short-term disability coverage.

  • Globe Life Liberty National Division: Offers life insurance policies, including term and whole life options, and some supplemental health coverages such as cancer, accidents, and critical illnesses.

  • New York Life: Offers term life, whole life, and universal life insurance policies, plus retirement and investment products.

  • Legal Shield: Offers pre-paid legal service plans and identify theft protection. 

Paid Time Off & Leave

  • PTO: Full-time employees eligible after 30 days of employment; earn 16 hours per month

  • Funeral Leave: One day for parent/parent-in-law, children, spouse, siblings, grandchildren, grandparents; additional time must be taken from PTO

  • Holiday Pay

Other Protections

  • Workers’ Compensation: Through KWORCC; paid at 66 2/3% of salary, all medical expenses covered

  • Unemployment Insurance: Through the State of Kansas
