Key Responsibilities
Financial Stewardship
- Receives and deposits all county monies, allocating funds to appropriate accounts and budget lines.
- Oversees and monitors county investments for safety, liquidity, and compliance with Kansas statutes.
- Reconciles county bank statements and provides transparent financial reports to the public and governing bodies.
Property Tax Administration
- Prepares, bills, and collects taxes on real estate and personal property, including the management of delinquent taxes.
- Maintains current and delinquent tax rolls, ensuring accurate records and statutory compliance.
- Disburses collected revenues to local taxing units such as cities, school districts, and special districts.
State Agency Services
- Acts as the official agent for the State of Kansas in motor vehicle registration and titling processes.
- Manages the issuance and renewal of license plates and handles title transfers.
- Facilitates the renewal of Kansas driver’s licenses for county residents.

Antique Motor Vehicle Billing Statements
Antique statements have been mailed out and are due February 28th, 2025.
You may notice that the property tax portion on Antique vehicles has gone up to $24 on some statements. As of August, 2024 the property tax on vehicles 1981 or newer will be $24. For vehicles 1980 or older, it remains $12.
