- The County Treasurer is the County’s Chief Financial Officer. All county monies are remitted to our office and we are in charge of depositing the money into the correct funds and bank accounts.
- Investments are placed and monitored by the Treasurer
- The County Treasurer reconciles the county bank statements.
- The Treasurer’s office is responsible for the preparation, billing and collection of property tax on real estate and personal property. During the year we are required to disburse the money to various taxing units (cities, school district, etc).
- The County Treasurer is responsible for maintaining the tax roles for current tax and delinquent tax.
- The County Treasurer also acts as an agent for the State of Kansas for registering and titling motor vehicles and renewing driver’s license.
