Ways to Vote in Stanton County, Kansas

Kansans have three ways to vote:
Advance Voting in Person
Advance Voting by Mail
Voting on Election Day

Advance Voting Dates & Hours:

  • Tuesday, July 28 – Friday, July 31: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Monday, August 3: 8:00 AM – 12:00 NOON (final day)

Advance voting ends at 12:00 noon on the Monday before the election (per Kansas law).

No application required
Must be a registered Stanton County voter
Photo ID required

📬 Advance Voting by Mail

Any registered voter may request a ballot by mail.

Apply for a Ballot

Must be signed by the voter (typed signatures not accepted)
Signature is verified against voter registration

Kansas law requires an application before a ballot can be mailed.

Deadline

Applications must be received by the Tuesday prior to the election (July 28, 2026).

Secured and checked daily

Important (2026):
Mail ballots must be received by 7:00 PM on Election Day to be counted.

🪪 Photo ID Requirements

Kansas requires photo ID for in-person voting.

Acceptable forms include:

  • Driver’s license or state ID
  • U.S. passport
  • Military ID
  • Government employee ID
  • Kansas student ID

Permanent Advance Voting

Voters with a permanent illness or disability may request to automatically receive a ballot for every election.

No need to reapply each election once approved
Ballots are automatically mailed

🪖 Military & Overseas Voting (UOCAVA)

Military and overseas voters may apply using a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA):

May return ballots electronically or by mail (per federal guidelines)

⚠️ Provisional Ballots

You may be issued a provisional ballot if:

  • You do not provide ID
  • Your registration cannot be verified
  • You vote at the wrong location

All provisional ballots are reviewed by the County Canvass Board.

Before you vote:

Registered at least 21 days before the election
Name and address are current
Have photo ID (if voting in person)
Requested ballot (if voting by mail)
Returning ballot on time
